VEEDERSBURG, Ind.— Omer Furr, a former Veedersburg resident, died Tuesday (March 24, 1970) at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He is survived by his widow, Gladys Boggs Furr; a son, James of Overland, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Marr of New Carlisle and Mrs. Eleanor Rectenwal of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Mary Furr of Greenfield; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Thursday at South Bend. Graveside rites will be at 4 p.m. EST Thursday at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg. Parham Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.  --typed by Walt W

Omer E. Furr, 77, of 1017 N. Eddy St died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital after an illness of two months. He retired from the University of Notre Dame Laundry Department. He was born Dec 25, 1892 in Veedersburg, Ind. He had resided here 23 years coming here from LaPorte.  He was married Jan 4, 1914 at Veedersburg to Gladys Boggs, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James R. of Oakland, Calif; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Marr of New Carlisle and Mrs. Eleanor Rectenwal of South Bend; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and sister, Miss Mary Furr of Greenfield, Ind. Services were today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, Rev. Russell Dietch, pastor of First Christian Church, officiated.  Burial was to be in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg.  He was a member of the First Christian Church. - kbz
